BYE WEEK: Ravens, Raiders

Game of the WeekBuccaneers at Saints

Even without Drew Brees, this has to be one of the best games of the 2021 NFL slate. Tampa Bay is trying to defend the title while New Orleans is hoping to get off the ground with either Taysom Hill or Jameis Winston leading a new-look Saints attack.

At 43 years old, it’s fair to wonder whether Tom Brady can continue playing at the level we’ve seen. While he’s no longer the MVP candidate he once was, Brady just own a seventh Super Bowl and continues to roll in the most important column sports has to offer. Meanwhile, the Saints were a 13-win team last year even with Brees missing significant time.

Yes, the Atlanta Falcons could factor into the division, but if anybody is going to knock off the Bucs, it figures to be Sean Payton’s squad. If the Saints can get some good production out of quarterback, the rest of the roster stacks up with anybody in football with players such as running back Alvin Kamara, receiver Michael Thomas, a terrific offense line and cornerback Marshon Lattimore.

New Orleans has enough juice to be a problem, even for the defending champions.
