Los Angeles Dodgers fans made the trip to Minute Maid Park to watch their team play the Houston Astros and chanted “cheaters” en masse.
Baseball fans, in general, don’t seem to be over the Houston Astros cheating scandal. Dodgers fans, in particular, haven’t forgotten.
They proved that on Tuesday when LA returned to Minute Maid Park with fans in the stands. The people in blue definitely made sure they were heard.
At one point during the game, a simple chant rang out.
There were 34,443 fans at the park on Tuesday. A sizable portion of them were there to cheer the Dodgers and troll the Astros.
Dodgers fans are still very unhappy with the Astros
Los Angeles fans got to leave the stadium with their heads up. The Dodgers took over late to win 9-2. Justin Turner hit a two-run homer in the fourth before the team found additional runs in the sixth and seventh.
An Alex Bregman home run for the home team in the bottom of the seventh kept the game just slightly in doubt at 5-1. However, three players walked in the eighth resulted in three more on the board for the Dodgers. The game was pretty much decided then.
Clayton Kershaw can feel particularly gratified by his performance, giving up just one run and four hits in 7.2 innings pitched. Zack Greinke gave up four runs in six innings of action.
The Dodgers and Astros are going in different directions at the moment. They were on a hot streak, but Houston’s momentum has come to a screeching halt after being swept by the Rangers ahead of the LA series.
Los Angeles is one of the hottest teams in baseball. They’re charging back into contention for the lead in the NL West thanks to 12 wins in their last 13 games.
The series, and bad blood, will continue on Wednesday.
