Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger had some huge praise for new signal caller Dwayne Haskins.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are preparing for another season with veteran quarterback Ben Roethlisberger starting under center. Even though the team still has confidence in their 2004 first-round draft selection, the Steelers did bring in a contingency plan in the form of Dwayne Haskins. As it turns out, Haskins has a huge fan in Roethlisberger.

While speaking with the media on Tuesday, the two-time Super Bowl champion said that Haskins’ throwing mechanics are “the prettiest” he’s ever seen, and gave a rather entertaining analogy of Haskins throwing a football through a car wash.

Roethlisberger’s praise did not go unnoticed by the newest Steelers quarterback. Haskins screen-captured a tweet with said quote and posted it to his Instagram story, where he said Roethlisberger was one of his favorite quarterbacks growing up.

Haskins was one of the top quarterback prospects to enter the NFL Draft process in 2019. He dropped to the No. 15 spot in the first-round, where he was selected by the Washington Football Team. Haskins did get some starting time in his rookie season, where he threw for 1,365 yards, seven touchdowns and seven interceptions on a 58.6 completion percentage through nine games (seven starts).

The young quarterback only played in seven games this past season, where he threw for 1,439 yards, five touchdowns and seven interceptions. Following his lack of production on the field and being pushed down the quarterback depth chart, Washington released Haskins in late December, where he went unclaimed on waivers.

At the time of his departure from Washington, Haskins was viewed as an high-upside signing for teams who were looking to develop a young signal-caller. The Steelers took a chance on Haskins this past January by signing him to a futures contract, and he is already receiving lofty praise from Roethlisberger.

With this update, Steelers fans have to be pumped about Haskins being on the team.
