Halfway through the second quarter of a pivotal Game 5, NBA Twitter was already declaring the Lakers dead.

With the Phoenix Suns up 30 points at halftime of Game 5 and Anthony Davis out, Twitter is already preparing eulogies for the Los Angeles Lakers.

Our honest opinion is you should never give up on LeBron James in a playoff series, but even the King doesn’t look like himself tonight. He’s -25 at the half and made just 3-of-10 shots prior to the break.

James and the Lakers are struggling, but we gotta say, NBA Twitter is on fire tonight. Here’s what basketball fans had to say about the Lakers awful start to Game 5:

NBA Playoffs: Twitter roasts Lakers lackluster first half of Game 5

When you’re down 66-36 heading back into the locker room, you know you’re going to hear about it.

Of course, even the Arizona Cardinals got in on the trash-talking. After all, the halftime score does look kinda like a football result.

The best advice we have for fans of either team right now is don’t get too high or too low at this stage. As the saying goes, it ain’t over ’til the fat lady sings. Even if they prevail tonight, the Suns need another win to finish off the defending champs, and it’s easier said than done.

Fans think LeBron James gave up on Game 4. light. More
