Kris Bryant robs Giants of game-tying HR to save the Cubs (Video)
With the game on the line, Chicago Cubs left fielder Kris Bryant saved the day for the Chicago Cubs by robbing a homer in the bottom of the ninth inning.
Throughout his incredible career with the Chicago Cubs, Kris Bryant has recorded countless incredible plays for the team. Of course, he was a massive piece in helping the squad win the World Series back in 2016, but things haven’t stopped there.
On Sunday in a 4-3 win over the San Francisco Giants, Bryant once again stepped up as a hero for the club. In the bottom of the ninth inning and Chicago holding on to its one-run lead, Mauricio Dubón was at the dish and got a hold of a ball in his wheelhouse. It looked like it was leaving the park. Bryant had other ideas.
Kris Bryant proved to be the hero once again for the Chicago Cubs
Bryant to the rescue? You better believe it. Indeed, Dubón laid into a delivery and probably thought to himself that he just tied things up at 4-4. Rather, Bryant made an outstanding play and prevented that from happening.
Usually a defensive stud at third base, Bryant was over in left field for this one and showcased just how great he could be at either spot. With the win, the Cubs are now 33-26 on the year and tied for first place in the AL Central standings with the Milwaukee Brewers.
That’s going to be an exciting race throughout the rest of the campaign. Should the Cubs go on to win the NL Central, you already know Bryant will play a big role in making that happen. The Cubs’ fan favorite will always be ready to get things done at the plate and on the defensive end.
