Devin Booker is the owner of LeBron James‘ last game-worn No. 23 Los Angeles Lakers jersey.

In a weird chain of events, Phoenix Suns shooting guard Devin Booker is the rightful owner of LeBron James’ last game-worn No. 23 Los Angeles Lakers jersey.

Booker’s Suns eliminated James’ Lakers from the NBA Playoffs last week. This was the first time one of James’ teams had ever bowed out in a first-round playoff series, as the Suns won their best-of-seven series, 4-2. James gave Booker the signed, game-worn jersey in the immediate aftermath of the game. He will be wearing the No. 6 jersey he made famous with the Miami Heat.

With it being signed personally to Booker, the jersey becomes a one-of-a-kind collector’s item.

Let’s be real. James had to know he was switching numbers before he handed his final No. 23 jersey into the hands of Booker. We can view this as a bit of the passing of the torch from one phenomenal NBA player to another, or it could just be a nice gesture between Western Conference All-Stars. Either way, Booker has James’ last game-worn No. 23 jersey signed to him personally.

Phoenix has a 2-0 lead over the Denver Nuggets in the Suns’ Western Conference Semifinals series. No team left in the Western Conference Playoffs has ever won an NBA Finals before. Although the Seven Seconds or Less Suns were culturally significant to the development of pace-and-space in the NBA today, the last Suns team to reach the finals featured Charles Barkley.

Booker will never sell this jersey, but he has to know that it is worth a small fortune now.
