2. Doug and Greg McDermott – Creighton

From 2010-2014 Greg McDermott seemed like a much smarter coach. That’s what having a son who can score with anyone will do for you. Doug was the MVC Freshman of the Year, averaging 14.9 points and 7.2 rebounds per game. He was MVC MVP in both his sophomore and junior seasons. He finished his career with averages of 21.7 points and 7.5 rebounds per game.

1. Pete and Press Maravich – LSU

We’re going back to 1967-1970 for the best player in college basketball history to play for his dad. The only reason that Maravich was a three-time First-Team All-American and not four-time, was because freshmen weren’t eligible to play varsity back then. Maravich is the all-time leading scorer in NCAA history with 3,667 points, 418 ahead of second-place Freeman Williams.

Maravich played 23 fewer games. He scored those points in only 83 games, averaging 44.2 points per game for his career. His career, not one season. Oh, it gets better. Maravich scored those 44.2 points per game without being able to take a three-point shot. It wasn’t around back then. The question isn’t whether he would have averaged 50 points per game shooting 3’s, it’s whether he could have gotten to 60.
