NBA Twitter was so happy for Chris Paul after his Phoenix Suns beat the LA Clippers to advance to the NBA Finals.

Chris Paul has been in the NBA for 16 seasons. Thanks to Wednesday’s Game 6 victory over the LA Clippers, the Phoenix Suns point guard is heading to the NBA Finals for the first time in his career.

It’s been a very long time coming, so Paul’s reaction was just as emotional as you’d expect.

He’s wanted this for a very, very long time.

NBA Twitter was just as excited for Paul’s achievement.

Regardless of team affiliation, everyone seems to agree watching Paul finally make it was an extremely happy occasion.

The best part of it was Paul’s individual performance to make sure it happened.

The Suns went ahead 3-1 in the series, but they lost Game 5 to the resilient Clippers. Losing a Game 6 would have opened the flood gates of doubt going into Game 7.

Paul responded the way any team wants their veteran point guard to step up. He hit 7-of-8 3-point attempts to rack up 41 points. He had 8 assists, 4 rebounds and 3 steals as well.

He absolutely deserved to make it to the NBA Finals after that outing and after all the hard work he’s put in for almost two decades.

For Clippers fans, it was bittersweet watching their former star get it done for another team on their home floor.

Paul and the Suns get to sit back and look forward to their NBA Finals matchup while waiting for the Milwaukee Bucks and Atlanta Hawks to resolve their Eastern Conference Finals series.

Whoever advances, they’ll have to face a man on a mission in Chris Paul.
