Denver Broncos linebacker Von Miller believes the front office can pull off a trade for Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

The saga between Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers has dominated the NFL offseason. With Rodgers having a discrepancy with the front office’s “philosophy,” he failed to report to organized team activities and mandatory minicamp. During this weekend’s American Century Celebrity Golf Championship, Rodgers said he will “figure things out in a couple of weeks.” Whether that is with the Packers or another team remains to be seen.

One team that has been consistently linked to Rodgers in a potential trade are the Denver Broncos. Mike Klis of 9News in Denver asked Broncos linebacker Von Miller on Sunday if he heard anything regarding a potential trade for Rodgers. Miller responded by saying that the Broncos have the front office who can pull off a potential trade, but he expressed his confidence in the abilities of current quarterbacks Drew Lock and Teddy Bridgewater.

Latest on Aaron Rodgers: Von Miller thinks Broncos could make a trade

“What have I heard?” Miller said on Sunday. “First and foremost, I’m comfortable with Drew. I’m comfortable with Teddy. G.P. (General Manager George Paton) and (president of football operations) John Elway. If A-Rod is out there for us to get him, those are the two guys to have on the job.”

While Miller does hypes up the abilities of general manager George Paton and president of football operations John Elway, this is all reliant on if the Packers are ready to pull the trigger on a deal. Whether they are willing to do so remains to be seen.

The Broncos have a well built team across both sides of the line of scrimmage, but their main question mark has been at quarterback. While Lock did show promise in 2019, his play did not instill confidence in the fan base, as he threw for 2,933 yards, 16 touchdowns and 15 interceptions while completing 57.3-percent of his passes.

This offseason, the Broncos negotiated a deal with the Carolina Panthers to acquire Bridgewater in exchange for a 2021 sixth-round draft pick. Bridgewater signed a huge deal with Carolina back in 2020, but found his way out of the organization after completing 69.1-percent of his passes for 3,733 yards, 15 touchdowns and 11 interceptions this past season.

The Broncos appeared to be comfortable in running a competition between Lock and Bridgewater in training camp, as they passed on selecting Ohio State’s Justin Fields and Alabama’s Mac Jones with the ninth-overall pick in this year’s NFL Draft, instead opting to select cornerback Patrick Surtain II.

While Miller believes the Broncos can pull off a trade for Rodgers, he is perfectly fine if they do not, since he tells Klis that he has been impressed with what he has seen from Lock and Bridgewater this offseason. As for Rodgers, we will likely receive an answer for his status for the 2021 season at the end of his “couple weeks” deadline.
