A middleweight scrap between Ty Gwerder and Khadzhimurat Bestaev is set for Bellator 264 which takes place on Aug. 13, 2021, according to promotion officials. The event, which is headlined by Gegard Mousasi and John Salter will take place at the Bellator Fight Sphere in the Mohegan Sun Arena, Uncasville, CT.

Gwerder is coming off a disappointing loss to Dalton Rosta at Bellator 250. It will be nearly a full year when Gwerder steps into the Bellator cage again as his last bout took place in October 2020. Just one month before the loss to Rosta, Gwerder defeated George Tokkos at Bellator 246.

His opponent will be making his Bellator debut after appearing in multiple promotions such as Dana White’s Contender Series and Legacy Fighting Alliance. This would be Bestaev’s first bout since his first round KO loss to Phil Hawes at DWCS. According to Bestaev’s Tapology, he is scheduled for a July 31 bout under the VIP Show banner.

Both men will be looking for a win under the Bellator banner.
