Bellator, Combate Americas veteran Emilio Chavez arrested for possession of child pornography.

According to the Fullerton Police Department, Emilio Chavez, a professional MMA fighter, was arrested for possession of child pornography after an investigation. This is apparently the second arrest of this nature for Chavez, who was arrested in 2019 for “possession of child pornography, luring and meeting a child to commit lewd acts and lewd acts upon a child.”

"In early September 2020, Fullerton Police Detectives assigned to the Los Angeles Regional Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC) began an investigation based on a tip that was received. During the investigation, Detectives discovered several images of children engaging in or simulating sexual acts. These images were posted on various internet sites. Detectives identified Emilio Alejandro Rojas Chavez, a 33 year old male resident of Fullerton, as the subject who had posted the images.Chavez had previously been arrested by Fullerton Police in 2019 and charged with possession of child pornography, luring and meeting a child to commit lewd acts and lewd acts upon a child.On Thursday, September 24, 2020, at approximately 7:40 AM, Fullerton Police Detectives arrested Emilio Alejandro Rojas Chavez for possession of child pornography. A search warrant was also served at Chavez’ residence to search for further evidence of the crime(s).Chavez was transported to the Fullerton City Jail where he is being held in lieu of $120,000 bail and a Parole Hold was issued.This case and Fullerton Police Department’s newly formed partnership with ICAC is a testament to our commitment to safeguarding our community, especially the most vulnerable, our children.This investigation is still ongoing. Emilio Chavez fought for Bellator and Combat Americas

Chavez was last seen in the cage in 2017 when he lost to Tyler Diamond at GKO 11. He’s appeared in promotions like Bellator, Combate Americas, Tachi Palace Fights, California Xtreme Fighting and Smash Global, among others. His most recognized opponent was Juan Archuleta who he fought to decision at SMASH Global 3 in 2016. He lost via unanimous decision. His last win came via a first-round submission of Froggy Estrada at Combate Americas in 2017.
