Prior to the start of the ceremony, Polamalu received his official Hall of Fame gold jacket after missing the event on Friday due to COVID-19 protocols. Just before giving his speech, Polamalu unveiled his bust alongside his presenter, Hall of Fame defensive coordinator Dick LeBeau. And yes, the bust featured Polamalu’s signature long hair.

Polamalu, a standout with the USC Trojans, was selected with the 16th-overall pick in the 2003 NFL Draft. Through his 12-year career with the Steelers, Polamalu recorded 783 combined tackles, 107 defended passes, 32 interceptions, 14 forced fumbles (seven recoveries), 12 quarterback hits, 12 sacks and five defensive touchdowns. The safety earned eight Pro Bowl and four All-Pro nominations, in addition to winning two Super Bowl titles and the NFL’s Defensive Player of the Year award in 2010.

Fans knew how great of a player Polamalu was throughout his playing days, but it was further solidified after he was named a Hall of Fame inductee in his very first year on the ballot. Now, he is forever immortalized in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
