While Lionel Messi has left FC Barcelona, that doesn’t mean that the Argentine superstar has played his last soccer game.

Folks all over the world remain stunned at the news that Lionel Messi has played his last game for FC Barcelona. Arguably the best soccer player of all time, Messi had agreed to a new contract with the club, but things fell through and now he’s looking for a new home.

While some fans may have thought that Messi retired from the game, that’s not the case. He’s still got plenty left in the tank and will look to win more trophies elsewhere. So, which jersey will Messi be donning next?

What team is Lionel Messi going to?

Shortly after news broke that Messi was leaving Catalonia, it was reported that Paris Saint-Germain was in the driver’s seat to sign Messi. Now, Messi is reportedly on his way to Paris for a physical and his new contract with the Ligue 1 club could be announced as soon as Monday.

While nothing is official yet and something can change, it’s looking pretty darn likely that PSG will be Messi’s newest club. He’d head to Paris after winning four La Liga titles with Barcelona, 10 Champions League wins and so much more.

Where is Lionel Messi from?

While Messi spent the last 21 years with the Barcelona organization, he’s not actually from Spain. Messi is from Argentina and he just won his first international title with his home country in the 2021 Copa America. In that final, Messi and Argentina took down Brazil.

Argentina is also in the second place of the CONEMBOL table for 2022 World Cup qualifying. Before he retires, he’s hoping to bring Argentina a World Cup title too, which would really be the cherry on top for him.
