After defeating defending champion Manchester City, Tottenham fans gave Harry Kane clear motivation to stay with Spurs.

Kane has been the subject of recent transfer rumors, most prominently to the team Tottenham defeated on Sunday. City is willing to pay Kane’s buyout clause, and then deliver a juicy new contract that would make him a very rich man, even by Manchester terms.

City is reportedly preparing a transfer deal for around 127 million euros, which would make Kane among the richest men in the English Premier League, let alone soccer as a whole. If money is the motivating factor, then what is he waiting for?

Yet, a magical Sunday performance from Tottenham against City could also sway Kane back to London. A goal from South Korean star Son Heung-min gave Spurs the victory.

Harry Kane rumors: Too late to fight off Manchester City?

As great as Kane has been for Spurs, typically when Man City wants a player, they get him. City is willing to pay just about any price, and have forced Spurs to the negotiating table to listen as they would be absurd not to.

After defeating Kane’s rumored destination, Tottenham fans made sure the England international heard them loud and clear.

“Are you watching, Harry Kane?” they all sang in unison.

Whether Kane heard the Spurs faithful or not, it’s fair to wonder if it’s too late to convince him to stay with so much capital on the line.
