19. Dustin Crum, Kent State

The fact that Kent State played only four games last season due to COVID hardships and scheduling might have people forgetting that Dustin Crum is returning as a super senior and should be respected as one of the better quarterbacks in college football. Because what he’s shown over the past two seasons, even in the shortened year, has been wholly impressive.

Over his last 17 games as the Golden Flashes starter (the combined games from the past two seasons), Crum has completed 70.4 percent of his passes for 3,806 yards, 32 touchdowns and only four interceptions. He’s also an underrated dual-threat player who can win with his legs, rushing for 947 yards and 10 touchdowns over that same span as well.

While playing in the MAC doesn’t give him the same level of competition as many of the other players who make these rankings, Crum has been downright dominant when he’s been on the field for Kent State. His ability to move the ball deep down the field efficiently is dangerous, especially when paired with his rushing ability.

Set to play a full season in 2021, look for Crum to emerge as one of the true Group of Five stars this season as his body of work to this point suggests that he’s going to do great things and put up big, big numbers.
