Great news has arrive for Arsenal, as the Martin Odegaard full transfer from Real Madrid is officially going through.

Midfielder Martin Odegaard finally, officially, has a new home. After spending part of last season on loan at Arsenal, there was hope from the Gunners that Odegaard would be able to return to London on a permanent deal.

Odegaard ended up going back to Real Madrid for training, but he faced an uphill climb trying to get regular minutes with the club. With Madrid lowering its asking price, Arsenal was able to move in and finalize the transfer. Insider Fabrizio Romano broke the news on Wednesday.

Martin Odegaard is now an Arsenal midfielder on a permanent deal

Per Romano, Arsenal was able to secure this transfer for around $47 million. Originally, Madrid was eyeing much more than this, but they realized with the window closing soon, the club simply needed to lower its number.

With those extra funds, what will Madrid do? While Los Blancos are hopeful that Kylian Mbappe will head to town, Marca is now reporting that Madrid will turn its focus to Erling Haaland soon if PSG doesn’t budge on their stance with Mbappe.

Meanwhile for Arsenal, this Odegaard news is a much-needed positive update for the fanbase. The morale for Gunners supporters everywhere has been down in the dumps after the team suffered a loss to Brentford on the road to open the new English Premier League season.

Odegaard will now look to make a big-time impact for Arsenal, as he’ll hope to make Madrid realize they’ve made quite the mistake in not having faith in him. It’ll be on Mikel Arteta to get the most out of the 22-year-old Norwegian talent.
