Miguel Cabrera hit his 500th home run against the Toronto Blue Jays on Sunday.

What an accomplishment for Miguel Cabrera. One of the finest sluggers this generation has ever seen, Cabrera entered Sunday’s game against Toronto sitting on 499 homers. All we needed to see was one more lovely swing of the bat for him to make history.

Fortunately, that moment has come. In the top of the sixth inning and the Tigers down 1-0, Cabrera sent a ball out of the park to even up the score. More importantly, though, he was able to reach homer No. 500 for his career. This is a moment Detroit fans will never forget.

Everything was perfect here. Between his swing, the call by the broadcast team and the Tigers players going crazy in the dugout, Cabrera’s moment was simply beautiful.
