Cubs surely must be tanking with dropped pop-up to blow lead against White Sox (Video)

We knew the Chicago Cubs were bad, but this is taking things to a whole new level.

Is this little league, or professional baseball in Chicago?

The Cubs were up 6-0 on their crosstown rival. That advantage has vanished, and the final run came in humiliating fashion.

Andrew Romine had a clear chance to get the Cubs out of the third inning, but instead dropped a ball most major leaguers make look routine.

The White Sox have since increased their lead, but they wouldn’t have done so (at least not that inning) without the misfortunes of Romine.

The tank surely must be on in the North side of Chicago.

Chicago Cubs tank is on after the trade deadline

In the month since the MLB Trade Deadline, the Cubs haven’t necessarily been trying to lose, but they surely haven’t put the best possible product on the field. This, of course, is because they traded away the best possible on-field product.

Kris Bryant is gone. Anthony Rizzo is gone. Javier Baez is gone. Craig Kimbrel is gone! Who is this team supposed to rely on moving forward?

That answer is not for the White Sox to give a bleep about. As the North Siders struggle to find a new identity, the South Siders prepare for another playoff appearance and (what they hope) is a deep postseason run.
