Chris Russo has an all-time take when it comes to Javy Baez and the Thumbs Down New York Mets.

In the midst of getting all riled up about Javy Baez and the New York Mets‘ thumbs down celebration, Chris Russo found a way to throw the entire Chicago Cubs fanbase under the bus with this unbelievable take.

Russo said on High Heat that Baez cannot get away with this type of on-field nonsense playing in New York. Here is what Russo had to say about Baez and the Thumbs Down Mets on his show on Monday. “This isn’t Wrigley Field where people don’t care, this is NYC….just shut up and play…Javy Baez is an embarrassment.”

The Cubs have great fans, which is why Baez never would have hit them with the Thumbs Down.

Mets Thumbs Down: Chris Russo makes asinine Cubs comment about Javy Baez

Prior to getting traded over to the Mets at the deadline, Baez had been a mainstay in Chicago. He was a fan favorite on the North Side and a vibrant part of their former core they won the 2016 World Series with. Baez has been in Queens for about a month and in about another, his high-profile divorce with the Mets will be imminent. There is no way he is going to be returning in 2022.

As for the Cubs fans getting absolutely railroaded here by Russo for no reason, that is just uncalled for. Chicago is every bit of a passionate and loyal sports town as New York. The Cubs may have been the Lovable Losers before, but when was the last time the Mets had any long-term sustained success on the diamond? It has been a long time since 2000, even longer since 1986.

Cubs fans have been through enough for the last few months, and they did not deserve this.
