St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Nolan Arenado will never forget about his days as a Colorado Rockie, even if they ending was a little…rocky.

Arenado had beef with the Rockies front office, but never the fans. Rockies general manager Jeff Bridich seemed determined to trade away his star third baseman and best asset. Eventually, all that talk came to fruition, with Arenado sent to St. Louis in a lopsided trade.

Bridich was fired shortly thereafter, and Rockies ownership is destined to make the same mistake with shortstop Trevor Story.

With the Cardinals on the road against the Milwaukee Brewers, Arenado gifted a bat to a fan spotted in the crowd wearing his Rockies jersey.

St. Louis Cardinals: Nolan Arenado instrumental in playoff chances

With the Cardinals closing in on the second Wild Card spot in the National League, with a narrow gap between themselves and the Reds and Padres, Arenado must be an instrumental force both offensively and defensively down the stretch.

Moments like these, however, provide a brief distraction from an otherwise intense time as a player. It’s a wonderful reminder of what baseball is all about.
