Awful news has come in for the Baltimore Ravens, as the team fears that running back Gus Edwards and cornerback Marcus Peters have suffered season-ending injuries.

The bad luck on the injury front has continued for the Baltimore Ravens and this time fans are understandably going to get into panic mode. During practice on Thursday, star running back Gus Edwards and stud cornerback Marcus Peters went down on back-to-back plays.

According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, the team believes that the two playmakers have suffered torn ACLs and both their campaigns are done. This is nothing short of brutal news for the AFC North powerhouse.

This awful update comes after JK Dobbins also tore his ACL in late August. On top of that, running back Justice Hill tore his Achilles earlier this month and is also out for the year. You just can’t even make this stuff up. Edwards was poised to have a monster year for the Ravens in a feature role, but those plans are now gone.

Meanwhile for Peters, he’s without question one of the best cornerbacks in the game. The only thing better than his play is his smack talk to the opposition. Losing him for the year is a loss for the defense that words can’t even describe.

With all the injuries for the running backs room, Ty’Son Williams would jump up to be the lead back for this team. Don’t forget that the Ravens signed Le’Veon Bell to the practice squad too. He’ll figure to get touches moving forward if Baltimore doesn’t go out and sign a free agent.

With Week 1 against the Raiders coming on Sunday, the morale for the team can’t be too high right now. Thursday’s update just has to sting for the locker room as a whole.
