Blue Jays ace Robbie Ray had some choice words for Baltimore Orioles manager Brandon Hyde’s antics on Friday night.

Hyde lost his cool against the AL Cy Young candidate on Friday, as he was seen screaming at Ray from the dugout to pitch quicker. Ray seemed concerned with the Orioles timing their at-bats.

Nonetheless, it’s not exactly the place of a rival skipper to yell obscenities at a player on the field except in very rare circumstances. This was not one of those opportunities.

Hyde would apologize after the game, but it doesn’t take away from the face that he served as a major distraction for a Jays team trying to overcome the Yankees for the second AL Wild Card spot.

Ray was not please with Hyde after the game.

A waste of time seems like an understatement, but Ray keeping tongue in cheek speaks volumes to his self-control as a person.

Blue Jays have much more to play for than Orioles

Baltimore is a cool 50 games under .500, while the Jays had been red-hot of late before ironically losing to the Orioles. Facing a losing team like the O’s should serve as an excellent opportunity to continue Toronto’s winning ways.

We’ll see if the Blue Jays can get some revenge on Hyde Saturday.
