As soon as USC football got rid of Clay Helton, the jokes about Urban Meyer ditching the Jaguars to come back to college hit Twitter.

Every time the subject of a USC head coaching vacancy comes up, Urban Meyer’s name gets linked.

Now, there’s actually an opening at USC and Twitter is all over the idea of Meyer taking the plunge back into the college ranks.

Who cares that he currently has a job in the NFL, the most chaotic scenario is the funniest.

Urban Meyer to USC tweets went wild after Clay Helton’s firing

The wave of Meyer-to-USC tweets started off with predictions. Confident ones.

With Meyer, you literally never know.

This timely meme was pure perfection.

Just don’t forget that USC has a pattern of disappointing.

Speaking of unexpected scenarios…

USC has plenty of time to make their decision. The fall season has only just begun. Basically, all options should be on the table.

Will they even look Meyer’s way? That’s the biggest uncertainty of all. Meyer has some worrisome issues on his record and the Trojans may not want to touch him for that reason.

Who knows, he may decide he wants to stick with Jacksonville for the long term. He has Trevor Lawrence and bailing on him after less than a year would be a move.
