1. Aaron Rodgers won’t attempt 20 passes

On a personal level, Rodgers will want to throw 50+ passes in this game to silence all the doubters that emerged after his ugly Week 1 showing. LaFleur and his coaching staff won’t permit their Hall of Fame signal caller to engage in a shootout to restore his reputation.

Instead, Green Bay is going to look to bludgeon Detroit at the line of scrimmage. They may show some relatively exotic looks in the run game, but the ball isn’t going to be chucked down the field very often.

Rodgers might get the chance to take one or two deep shots on the day, but he’s going to spend most of his time handing the ball off to Jones and Dillon in the backfield. Ironically, Rodgers’ Week 2 showing may look a lot like what Jameis Winston did to Green Bay’s defense in Week 1. He’ll be hyper-efficient with the football but he’s not going to put up video game numbers.

Rodgers won’t throw more than 20 passes in what should be a comfortable bounceback win for Green Bay. That won’t permit him to reestablish himself as one of the top five quarterbacks in the NFL today, but it will be enough to even the Packers’ record at 1-1.
