Chicago White Sox manager Tony La Russa was so angry during Thursday’s game against the Los Angeles Angels, he ripped out the phone in the dugout.

The Chicago White Sox had an eventful Thursday when facing off against the Los Angeles Angels. During the top of the ninth inning, with the Angels leading 9-3, Mike Wright Jr. threw three straight pitches at designated hitter Shohei Ohtani. As a result, Wright was ejected from the game.

After his relief pitcher’s ejection, White Sox manager Tony La Russa was tossed from the game shortly afterwards. Prior to departing, La Russa took out some frustration on the dugout phone, which he ripped out of the wall!

Following the game, La Russa said that the White Sox were not trying to intentionally plunk Ohtani in the ninth frame and that the umpires made a mistake in ejecting Wright.

Whether you agree with La Russa or believe that Wright was intentionally trying to throw at Ohtani, one thing that can not be denied is that Chicago’s dugout phone will be out of commission.
