Greg Joseph wore the saddest of hats the day after he blew it for the Minnesota Vikings.

The only thing sadder than the Minnesota Vikings‘ radio broadcast’s call of Greg Joseph’s missed field goal was the hat the placekicker decided to wear at a press conference the day after the fact.

“Kindness. Pass it on.”

While everybody makes mistakes, the Vikings are 0-2 after two soul-crushing defeats. After losing in overtime to the mediocre Cincinnati Bengals in Week 1, the Vikings backed that up with Joseph missing a 37-yard chip shot vs. the Arizona Cardinals. It might have been on the road, but the Vikings were playing in a dome. All the while, Mike Zimmer’s seat is getting mighty toasty.

To feed Joseph to the wolves today was cruel and unusual punishment for the entire organization.

Vikings K Greg Joseph wears the saddest hat of all time after missed field goal

Though he may play in a state known for Minnesota nice, Vikings fans have to be absolutely furious with this team. The weather has not even really changed yet, and things are boiling over in the Twin Cities. If the Vikings do not make the playoffs, Zimmer is getting whacked. As far as Joseph is concerned, he has plenty of time to right the ship and redeem himself for the Vikings.

If the press conference is not the epitome of a hostage situation, I don’t know what to say…
