Watch Ben Parrish sleep Christian Edwards in less than 40 seconds at Bellator 266.

Bellator light heavyweight Ben Parrish wanted to make some noise in his Bellator debut and he succeeded in a cinematic fashion with a quick knockout over rising contender Christian Edwards at Bellator 266.

It didn’t take long for Parrish to earn the attention of the MMA community as he blasted Edwards with a gigantic left hook just seconds into the fight. Edwards collapsed to the canvas beneath him and Parrish finished the bout with a couple of hard ground-and-pound shots before the referee intervened.

Parrish came into the bout with plenty to prove against Edwards, a 22-year-old prospect who many believe could be a future Bellator champion.

Following a successful start to his professional career with a 4-1 record in Summit Fighting Championships, Parrish signed with Bellator with the hopes of earning a long-term spot on its roster. With his incredible debut finish over Edwards, it’s safe to say that Parrish could be a potential contender for years to come.

Remarkably, Parrish isn’t exactly known for his striking with his first four wins coming by way of submission. After suffering a brutal leg injury in his last appearance at SFC 33, many questioned whether or not Parrish would be able to return to form against Edwards at Bellator 266.

Looking ahead to what could be next for Parrish’s MMA career, he should get a spot in the Bellator light heavyweight rankings and could get another big name for his next fight.
