Boston Red Sox pitcher Chris Sale trolls himself for being in favor of the team’s yellow City Connect alternate uniforms.

It’s been a little over five years since pitcher Chris Sale was sent home for cutting up the Chicago White Sox’s throwback jerseys because he thought that they were uncomfortable. That was back in 2016, and now in 2021 Sale is a member of the Boston Red Sox and he poked fun over actually liking Boston’s yellow alternate uniforms.

Maybe yellow is just Sale’s favorite color because the Red Sox’s uniforms are much more questionable than the White Sox’s throwback uniforms that he refused to wear.

Sale had Tommy John surgery in 2020 and made his return back to the Red Sox lineup in August after not playing since the 2019 MLB season, so maybe he only likes the team’s yellow City Connect alternate uniforms because he’s simply happy to be playing again.

Boston’s yellow jerseys were designed around a Boston Marathon theme and were first worn by the team back in April.

If the Red Sox are winning games in their yellow and blue jerseys, I’d make the decision to keep wearing them, too. However, the White Sox throwback jerseys that Sale took a hard stance against looked more appealing than the Red Sox’s yellow jerseys.

If the season ended today, Boston would take on the New York Yankees at Fenway Park in the AL Wild Card game. Imagine if the Red Sox beat the Yankees at home in a thriller to extend their season.. in yellow and blue jerseys.

Maybe then New York would be the one cutting up jerseys. Either way, keep sharp objects out of Sale’s reach.

When is the last time the White Sox won the AL Central?. dark. Next
