5 bold predictions for Packers against Bengals
3. Aaron Jones will go over 100 yards rushing
Jones and A.J. Dillon got 15 carries each against Pittsburgh last week, but Dillon was far more effective with his touches. Look for that to change this week as Jones will use his speed and elusiveness to torch the Cincinnati defense for multiple big plays.
That will be the key to Jones getting past the 100-yard mark on the ground. This isn’t a game where Green Bay can afford to hand him 25-30 carries if they want to be successful. Jones will need to go for a high average with somewhere between 15 and 20 carries this week.
The blueprint for success for Green Bay in this game will be to open things up with the passing game before gashing nickel and dime packages with their ground game. Jones thrives with that kind of space to work with at the line of scrimmage.
Dillon is still going to get his share of carries in this one, but the plan will be for him to salt the game away in the fourth quarter. Jones will get most of the early work and he’ll reward Matt LaFleur and his coaching staff with over 100 yards on the ground.
