Mookie Betts could not believe Brandon Crawford robbed him of a base knock in Game 3.

Los Angeles Dodgers star outfielder Mookie Betts was beside himself when San Francisco Giants shortstop robbed him of a clutch base hit.

Runs were at a premium in Game 3 of the 2021 NLDS. The wind was a major factor in this pivotal game, but the top-seeded Giants took Game 3, 1-0. In perhaps the best opportunity for the Dodgers to plate a run, Crawford snagged what should have been an RBI single on a leaping grab off the bat of Betts. The Dodgers outfielder’s reaction to Crawford besting him was so priceless.

Los Angeles must win its next two games to avoid bowing out to the hated Giants in the NLDS.

What made this play by Crawford so significant is the Dodgers had runners on first and second with two outs. Steven Souza would have scored from second on this line drive easily. It would have tied the game up at one with Will Smith as the go-ahead run presumably on third base. Then again, Crawford is one of the best defensive shortstops in all of baseball. This is what he does.

The Dodgers and the Giants square off in Game 4 on Tuesday night with San Francisco up 2-1.
