The Milwaukee Bucks didn’t quite look like the defending NBA champions in a blowout loss to the Heat in their second game of the season. Twitter gave them hell for it.

The 2020-21 season turned out magical for the Bucks. They may have spent a bit too much time celebrating that NBA Championship though.

That’s the conclusion you could come to if you watched Milwaukee’s second game of the season against the Heat.

How did it go for the Bucks in their second game since winning the NBA title? This video pretty much sums it up.

The championship hangover is still going apparently. And that was just the first quarter. Miami went on to win 137-95.

The Heat trampled the Bucks in game No. 2

Twitter was merciless about the performance and the 42-point loss.

It doesn’t matter if you’re coming off the best series of your life, you’re only as good as your latest performance in sports. If you don’t show up ready to play, things can turn ugly in a moment. And when you’re down 40-17 coming out of the first quarter, things are definitely ugly.

For the Heat, it was an outing driven by Jimmy Butler’s 21 points and six assists along with Bam Adebayo’s 20 points and 13 rebounds. Tyler Herro came off the bench to score 27. They couldn’t have asked for a much better showing across the board, even with Kyle Lowry having a quiet night.

On the other side, Giannis Antetokounpo grabbed 10 rebounds but only put up 15 points on 4-of-11 shooting. Khris Middleton went 4-of-14 for 10 points. Milwaukee looked out of it from the start.

The Bucks could use this one as a wake up call. There will be no skating through this season, especially with motivated teams like the Heat out there looking for blood.
