2. Spencer Rattler best transfer fit: Arizona State Sun Devils

It’s going to be interesting to see what the immediate future holds for Herm Edwards and the Arizona State Sun Devils. For one, there are likely penalties coming down on the program due to NCAA violations regarding recruiting and practicing during the COVID-19 pandemic. That’s one thing that could weigh heavily on where they go after this season.

Partially as a result of that but perhaps independent of it as well, who knows what’s next for incumbent quarterback Jayden Daniels. He’s eligible for the NFL Drat and could take that route after this season. Or, with the possibility of penalties raining down on the Sun Devils, perhaps he would like to transfer in his own right.

As mentioned previously, Rattler is an Arizona native who could very much be eyeing a return closer to home if he does transfer out of Norman. With what Arizona State is currently dealing with, that could open the door for Herm Edwards to welcome the quarterback to the mix and lead the program through potentially tough times.

Despite the likely NCAA penalties, it should be noted that this fit would be great for Rattler too. Having a proven NFL veteran coach like Edwards to guide and mold him could be what’s best for him to potentially save his stock as a future pro quarterback.
