Washington Football Team star defensive end Chase Young offered his best idea on what the franchise should be renamed as they look to rebrand.

Chase Young is the face of the Washington Football Team after the franchise selected him with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. But as we all know, the organization is also in the midst of a rebrand where they will choose a new nickname.

So why not ask the face of Washington what he would rename the team?

That’s exactly what Matt Verderame and Mark Carman did on the Stacking the Box podcast. And when asked what he would choose, Young responded, “I’d probably do the Washington Pittbulls.” He added, “I couldn’t do a Bulldog because that’s like college. I ain’t never heard nobody say Pittbull, though.”

Chase Young gives the Washington Football Team a new name

Though it’s probably not actually in the running to be the next team name, the Washington Pitbulls actually seems kind of awesome.

Young not only brings up a good point that it’s not generic like “Bulldogs” would’ve been when you consider college mascots but also that it’s not a moniker that you’ve probably heard.

While Young likely won’t be given the option to choose the new moniker for Washington, maybe they should. Off the top of his head, he came up with a damn good option.
