7. Elijah Mitchell – San Francisco 49ers

Elijah Mitchell has established himself as the starting running back with Raheem Mostert out of the season. Trey Sermon was expected to be that guy, but Mitchell raced past his fellow rookie immediately. It’s still a Shanahan offense, so trust a running back as far as you can throw them, but this week you can throw Elijah Mitchell pretty far.

The 49ers are taking on the Los Angeles Rams this week. Shanahan knows the secondary Jimmy Garoppolo is going to face, and he will try to supplement that with a good running game. Good luck with that against Aaron Donald and Von Miller, but he will commit to it. Mitchell has the ability to break a run or two and make some noise in fantasy.

6. Javonte Williams – Denver Broncos

The Denver Broncos running game was dominant against the Dallas Cowboys. Javonte Williams broke 100 yards rushing and Melvin Gordon added 80 yards rushing and a touchdown. Both players were getting big chunk plays with each carry, but Williams clearly looked like the better running back. The rookie has slowly taken the starting role, but it’s still a 1A-1B situation.

Williams and the Broncos are high on themselves this week after the big week, and now they are taking on the Philadelphia Eagles. They are the fourth-worst team against running backs in fantasy. The Broncos are going into this week with a similar strategy to just run the ball at will and let that lead the offense. Teddy Bridgewater can only do so much, but with a good running game, he looks really good. Williams is going to have a huge day, and he will get into the endzone against the Eagles.
