Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James was ejected from Sunday’s game against the Detroit Pistons after hitting Isaiah Stewart in the eye.

Sunday’s meeting between the Los Angeles Lakers and Detroit Pistons was not expected to generate many headlines. However, that all changed in the third quarter, after LeBron James hit Isaiah Stewart in the right eye during a free throw. Stewart was bloodied and he angrily tried to get at James.

After things cooled down, referees assessed James with a flagrant 2 foul and he was ejected from the game. With LeBron ejected for the second time of his career, will he be subjected to a suspension?

Will LeBron James be suspended for hitting Isaiah Stewart in the eye?

Based off James striking Stewart’s face, leaving it bloodied, he is likely going to face some form of punishment. Will it be a suspension? That will be up to the NBA to decide. If anything, James is likely facing a fine at the absolute minimum.

After being struck in the face, Stewart was livid, trying to get to James numerous times. He was held back by members of his team and eventually pushed back towards the tunnel of Little Caesars Arena, where he eventually made a mad dash down the hallway.

Stewart was assessed two technical fouls after getting struck in the face by LeBron and was ejected as well. Lakers guard Russell Westbrook was assessed a technical too.

James had just returned this past Friday after being sidelined due to an abdominal strain. Now, it will remain to be seen if he will be forced to miss any games if the league decides to suspend him. All we can say is to stay tuned.
