Teddy Bridgewater injured for Broncos, goes to locker room

Denver Broncos quarterback Teddy Bridgewater left the game against the Chargers with a lower leg injury and is questionable to return.

The Denver Broncos had to make a quarterback change in the second quarter against the Chargers when Teddy Bridgewater was sacked and hurt his lower leg.

The starter was replaced by Drew Lock and ended up going to the locker room to get the injury checked out.

While the team called him questionable to return, he did make his way back to the sideline with his helmet on.

During his absence, Lock led the team on a touchdown drive to extend the lead to 14-0.

Denver will have to decide if they want to play it safe with Bridgewater banged up or take the chance of putting him back in the game.

This season, Bridgewater has led the Broncos to a 5-5 record in his 10 starts. He has thrown 14 touchdowns with five interceptions.

Lock had to come in during the game against the Ravens, which ended up being a loss as the replacement threw an interception and was sacked three times.

While Lock has previous starting experience with the Broncos, Bridgewater has generally been the better quarterback since he arrived for the 2021 season.

On the plus side, the Chargers offense struggled to get off the ground early against Denver with the Broncos defense holding them scoreless in the first half.
