4. Top fantasy football pickups for Week 13- Atlanta Falcons WR Russell Gage

The Atlanta Falcons’ passing attack has struggled to get going while wide receiver Calvin Ridley has taken a leave from the team to deal with mental health issues. One player who has managed to step up of late is Russell Gage, who has become a trusted option for Matt Ryan.

Gage had a solid day against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 12, recording six catches for 62 yards and scoring a touchdown for the first time since Week 7. Ryan looked Gage’s way seven times in this contest, marking the third time in four games that Gage has received at least seven targets.

Game flow should also be a positive for Gage, who plays on a mediocre team that has a questionable defense. The fact that Gage put up a good performance in a game where Atlanta was in command from the jump is also encouraging for his fantasy stock going forward.

Fantasy owners haven’t quite bought in on Gage yet as he is rostered in only 17 percent of Yahoo leagues. A matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ burnable secondary awaits in Week 13 for Gage, who could produce solid WR3 numbers as long as Ridley remains away from the Falcons.
