A decision could be coming soon for Kris Bryant and now a new team has entered the sweepstakes in trying to sign him.

Where is stud third baseman Kris Bryant headed next? That’s what everyone is waiting to find out, and there are several teams hoping they land him. The Seattle Mariners have of course been mentioned of late, but now there’s a new club hoping to win out.

And that team is Colorado. According to MLB insider Mark Feinsand, the Rockies have serious interest in getting something done in the near future. Will it be Colorado for the former World Series champ?

Kris Bryant signing with the Rockies would break Seattle hearts

It really does feel like breaking Bryant news could be coming soon. The Rockies are coming off another rough season, as they went 74-87 and missed out on the playoffs once again.

While things haven’t gone according to plan in recent years, the fanbase is hopeful that the team can pull off some moves in free agency to bring back some excitement to Coors Field. Should the team sign Bryant, that’d of course provide a spark.

At the same time, Mariners fans would go into a meltdown if that does happen. Seattle made a big splash by signing reigning American League Cy Young winner Robbie Ray to a monster five-year deal. They also traded for Adam Frazier.

However, there’s still more work that needs to be done by Jerry Dipoto to give the AL West side its best chance to make the postseason in 2022. Seattle hasn’t tasted the playoffs since 2001, which is enough to drive people in the 206 mad. Bryant signing with the Rockies would be a big blow to the fans in the Pacific Northwest, no doubt about that.
