Running Back 1: Austin Ekeler, Los Angeles Chargers ($8,100)

Austin Ekeler, the number two running back overall in PPR leagues, has a dream matchup this week against the Houston Texans, who allow the fourth-most fantasy points to running backs this year. Mentioned in our best Week 16 matchup article, Ekeler has a chance to have one of the best games of his season this week.

If we want to spend big on a back, Ekeler is the one to go with. He’ll lead our running back group in what is a solid three-headed monster. Ekeler has overall RB1 upside this week and we can’t go wrong with that upside in our lineup.

Running Back 2: James Robinson, Jacksonville Jaguars ($5,900)

James Robinson was finally freed after Jacksonville’s firing of former Head Coach Urban Meyer, who benched Robinson on multiple occasions. Robinson responded handsomely, rushing 18 times for 75 yards and a touchdown, adding three receptions as well.

Robinson has another dream matchup this week against the 30th-ranked Jets run defense who allows the most fantasy points per game to running backs. Getting him for under $6,000 is a major bargain. He has top-five upside this week.
