New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson channeled his inner Derrick Henry to completely humiliate the Jacksonville Jaguars defense on this impressive touchdown run.

With his two legs, New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson went all Derrick Henry on the Jacksonville Jaguars defense.

In a game between two AFC bottom-feeders playing for little more than pride, as well as draft positioning, New York scored the first touchdown of the game. The No. 2 overall pick out of BYU escaped from the pocket all the way to the Jaguars end zone for sweet, delicious 52-yard pay dirt. It was a run that reminded Jacksonville fans of the greatest run of Henry’s illustrious NFL career.

Here is Wilson getting the Jets on the board with perhaps the best play of his rookie season.

It was only fitting that after the best offensive play of the Jets’ season that they could not score on the ensuing two-point attempt. Regardless, a home win by the Jets over Jacksonville would ensure they would not end up with the No. 1 pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. The top selection in the upcoming draft is likely to be a pass-rusher, either Aidan Hutchinson or Kayvon Thibodeaux.

Ultimately, these type of defensive breakdowns tend to happen when two teams this late into the season have a combined five wins between them. Of course, no player on either side wants to put any more bad tape on the reel in the final games of the season. However, this Wilson highlight will almost certainly be a lowlight for a handful of members on this Jaguars defense. It was not great.

This was the longest run by a quarterback since Henry’s former Tennessee Titans teammate Marcus Mariota hit 87-yard pay dirt way back in 2015 … on the Jaguars defense…
