Ole Miss Rebels quarterback Matt Corral gets incredible news after his scary Sugar Bowl injury.

Though Matt Corral’s Ole Miss career may have ended on a terrible note, the Rebels’ star signal-caller got amazing news on his injured ankle.

Corral got rolled up on very early in Ole Miss’ Sugar Bowl loss to Baylor. He would not return what was his final college football game. Corral returned to the Rebels’ sidelines in street clothes and on crutches. Everybody was terrified that the future first-round pick saw his 2022 NFL Draft stock plummet from a gruesome injury. As it turns out, it was only a sprained ankle and he will be okay.

Corral projects as a top-16 pick in the 2022 NFL Draft as one of the first quarterbacks to be taken.

A huge conversation throughout New Year’s Day stemmed from ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit’s comments about players opting out of bowl games. His comments went viral for all the wrong reasons. While his Ohio State Buckeyes had no issues putting up points without its two top wide receivers in the Rose Bowl, people were sick to their stomaches seeing Corral go down like he did.

With him not having any major ligament damage, this will not negatively impact Corral’s draft status. Though he does not project as the first quarterback off the board, it would not be shocking to see Corral go inside of the top 10, probably behind Pitt’s Kenny Pickett and maybe behind North Carolina’s Sam Howell. Corral will not miss out on life-changing money from his Sugar Bowl injury.

Even in defeat, there is no doubt that Corral wanted to compete one last time with his teammates.
