The timing of the game worked out for Cooper and Lamb. The Cowboys’ regular season will end on Saturday against the Eagles in Philadelphia, so they will be heading out of town soon.

The Mavericks showed up big time to honor Nowitzki as well. They rolled by the Warriors with a 99-82 victory. Luka Doncic put up 26 pints, seven rebounds and eight assists while Dallas held Steph Curry to 14 points on 5-of-24 shooting.

Nowitzki wore the No. 41 for the Mavericks for 21 years. He led the team to the 2011 NBA title and won the NBA MVP award in 2007. He was an NBA All-Star 14 times.

He retired in 2019 after setting the NBA record for the most seasons one person has played with a single team.

Nowitzki ended a title drought for the Mavericks going back to their debut season in 1980. It was the first major championship for the city since the Dallas Stars won the Stanley Cup in 1999.

Cooper and Lamb will hope the Cowboys are able to bring Dallas another title this year. They are 11-5 and clinched the NFC East with Lamb leading the team with 1,057 yards and Cooper leading the team with eight touchdowns.
