After a spectacular season at Michigan, defensive end Aidan Hutchinson declares for the 2022 NFL Draft.

Michigan defensive end and Heisman Trophy runner-up Aidan Hutchinson is turning his attention toward pro football after declaring for the 2022 NFL Draft. Hutchinson may be the No. 1 overall pick will exchange his Maize and Blue for whichever team chooses to add him onto their roster. He could play his pro football in Michigan for the Detroit Lions who own a top-two pick.

This past year, Hutchinson had a breakout year in Ann Arbor, helping Michigan to a Big Ten Championship and a blowout victory over arch-rival Ohio State. After finishing second in the Heisman Trophy voting to Alabama’s Bryce Young, Hutchinson and the Wolverines participated in the College Football Playoff. They fell short to the Georgia Bulldogs in the Orange Bowl.

Hutchinson recorded 14 sacks in 2021, good for third in the nation. Against Georgia, he recorded four tackles in the 34-11 loss.

Aidan Hutchinson may be first player taken in the 2022 NFL Draft

Given his college pedigree along with his measurables, Aidan Hutchinson is primed to make an impact in the NFL. At 6-foot-6 and 265 pounds, Hutchinson is a force off the edge, and will likely be heading to Jacksonville or Detroit who own the top two picks ahead of Week 18.

Wherever he ends up, Hutchinson will be just fine; his motor, combined with intelligence and quickness off the edge, made him a force for offensive linemen to deal with.
