The Pittsburgh Steelers have plenty of ways to replace Ben Roethlisberger. Here’s how they can do so via trade, signing and draft.

The Pittsburgh Steelers somehow, someway made it to the playoffs this season. That gave quarterback Ben Roethlisberger a chance to potentially go out on top with a run to a Super Bowl victory. That did not happen.

Pittsburgh was eliminated in the Wild Card round after a loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. With this, the speculation is that this will be it for Roethlisberger. That means the Steelers will have to look for a replacement for their quarterback. The Steelers actually have three methods to do so — by trade, free agent signing and NFL Draft pick.

Here are the three quarterbacks the Steelers should consider bringing in to replace Roethlisberger.

Steelers: Ben Roethlisberger replacements to trade, sign or draft

Trade: Gardner Minshew

For those of you expecting us to include Aaron Rodgers and Russell Wilson as potential trade options for Pittsburgh, pump the brakes. NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport reported that the Steelers trading multiple draft picks for a big-name, veteran quarterback is unlikely There is one name the Steelers should consider on the trading block.

Gardner Minshew.

During his young career, Minshew has shown that he can be a capable starting quarterback in the NFL. After spending his first two seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars, he was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles. In fact, Minshew did get two starts under his belt this season, one of which was a win over the New York Jets.

In three games, Minshew completed 68.3-percent of his passes for 439 yards, four touchdowns and one interception. Throughout his three-year career, Minshew threw for 5,969 yards, 41 touchdowns and 12 interceptions while completing 63.2-percent of his passes.

Acquiring Minshew in a trade would not cost much for the Steelers. Given that and his play, it would be a wise decision for Pittsburgh.
