While there are several enemies of the star across the league, none are as satisfied as Eagles fans in the wake of a devastating Cowboys loss.

Last year, the Dallas Cowboys season ended when Dak Prescott fractured his ankle.

In 2021-22, the Cowboys season ended when Prescott ran a little too far with too little time, and their postseason run was fractured.

There are several enemies of the star that are reveling in the fourth seed’s shocking loss, although none are as animated as Stephen A. Smith. Smith, who’s made a point of building up the Cowboys all season just so he can delight in their eventual downfall, cackled maniacally as he relished the tears of dejected Cowboys fans.

Although Smith plays a Cowboys hater well, so does the NFL’s “most hated” fanbase: the gritty, spirited fans hailing from Philadelphia.

Philly fans lay into Cowboys Twitter for embarrassing playoff loss

Relying on the popular handshake Twitter meme, Eagles analyst Jessi Taylor was quick to remind everyone that the “Super Bowl faves” fell just as low as the supposedly rebuilding Eagles.

Eagles fans did not let go of the fact that Dallas thought they were winning the Super Bowl this year. Instead, the Cowboys made their 11th consecutive playoff appearance without making the championship round — and Philly just won the Super Bowl in 2018.

Indeed, no one is forgetting how hard the Dallas Cowboys celebrated when they defeated the Eagles’ “eighth-stringers” in Week 18.

The division-winning Dallas Cowboys may have acted superior to the wild card Eagles, but the Cowboys’ loss proves more crushing considering their stature and opponent. Losing to the reigning Super Bowl champions isn’t as devastating as losing to a 49ers team that lost its momentum by the end of the game.

In the end, it seems that the Cowboys were no more Super Bowl bound than the Eagles, and Cowboys fans reacted no differently than Eagles fans might have in that situation.

For now, the Cowboys will likely continue on as if they have no competition in the NFC East, although this uncomfortable playoff stat shows just how much ground Dallas has yet to cover.

It’s going to be a long offseason in Dallas.
