After a strong 2021 season, running back Leonard Fournette will cash-in this offseason. Here are five teams that can sign him in free agency.

The 2022 league year is approaching, which means there are going to be a bevy of moves on the free agency market. There are some big names looking to cash in this offseason and there are teams in need of their services. Running back Leonard Fournette could be one of them.

FanSided national NFL insider Matt Lombardo reported that Fournette is testing out free agency after having a strong 2021 campaign with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Buccaneers are going to have a new look next season, considering quarterback Tom Brady announced his retirement after 22 years in the NFL. He may not be the only departure, especially with pivotal players entering free agency such as Fournette and wide receiver Chris Godwin.

Where could Fournette end up in free agency? Here are five potential landing spots.

Scouting Report. Miami Dolphins. 5.. 59. Pick Analysis. AFC. East. player

If Fournette is testing out free agency, you have to look at the team that has the most cap space. That team in 2022 is the Miami Dolphins, who have over $61 million in space this year. Luckily for Fournette, they do have a need at running back.

Miami was among one of the worst rushing offenses in the league, as they averaged just 92.2 yards per game (third-fewest) and scored just 12 rushing touchdowns (tied seventh-fewest). That can be attributed to both the talent they had on the running back depth chart and the fact that they have one of the worst offensive lines in the league.

The Dolphins need to build around quarterback Tua Tagovailoa for him to succeed. The top priority should be offensive linemen. But, it certainly would help him if they added a running back. Miami has Myles Gaskin under contract entering the 2022 league year. Adding Fournette could be a solid acquisition for the Dolphins.
