Kansas and Arizona added to the list of top 10 teams to fall on Saturday, so we have to check in on our college basketball rankings projections again.

Early on Saturday, two top-10 teams in college basketball went down as Kentucky and Purdue both suffered losses in the early afternoon. As it turns out, that was just the beginning as the top-10 was more of a curse than a gift on Saturday in the college basketball rankings.

Auburn was another team to go on the road and take a loss, but the evening held some even bigger surprises as the Kansas Jayhawks had to travel to Baylor and Arizona got caught sleeping on the road at Colorado, a team that has been at the bottom of the Pac-12 all season.

That makes five top-10 teams that lost on Saturday, which doesn’t include Villanova losing earlier in the week. So what will the college basketball rankings look like now? Let’s take a look at our projections.

College basketball rankings: Projections after Kansas falls at Baylor, Arizona shocked with upset by Colorado

  1. Gonzaga Bulldogs
  2. Arizona Wildcats
  3. Duke Blue Devils
  4. Auburn Tigers
  5. Texas Tech Red Raiders
  6. Baylor Bears
  7. Kansas Jayhawks
  8. Kentucky Wildcats
  9. Purdue Boilermakers
  10. Providence Friars

Honestly, whenever you have this many top-10 teams falling n the exact same day and in a variety of different situations, it can be hard to fully assess just how things are going to move around.

With only three losses and the way they’d been playing prior to Saturday, you have to give Arizona the nod to stay at No. 2. Particularly with the other teams behind them also going down this week, you can’t make a reasonable case that any group deserves to jump ahead of them.

As for Kansas, they do fall a bit here. Namely, Baylor should likely jump them and push them down to the No. 7 spot. Oh, and Auburn also falls too with their loss.

If this is just the precursor for March Madness, we could be getting ready to see things madder than we have in a long, long time.
