While in Indianapolis at the NFL Combine, Ohio State’s Garrett Wilson revealed that he’s got a great relationship with Browns signal-caller Baker Mayfield.

If the Cleveland Browns are looking for a playmaker to take with the No. 13 overall pick in next month’s NFL Draft, Ohio State wide receiver Garrett Wilson could be the guy for them. Wilson is considered one of the top offensive players available, as his speed and route running is quite impressive.

Should the Browns take Wilson, he has made it pretty obvious he would love it if he were to head to Cleveland. Why, you ask? Because he’s got a great relationship with Baker Mayfield, as the two hail from the same high school in Austin, Texas.

Garrett Wilson is ready to make plays for the Browns if they draft him

Wilson and Baker were both standouts for Lake Travis High School, but they didn’t play together. Despite that, Mayfield and Wilson have gotten to know each other over the years. Wilson likes the idea of catching balls from him at the next level.

“Baker’s my guy,” Wilson said via the Akron Beacon Journal. “He was always a little older than me and he would come back to Lake Travis and coach seven on seven. During the quarantine, we actually threw together a couple times. So I know that Baker is a great player. We have a good relationship.”

Wilson shared that he met with the Browns while at the Combine as well, which only adds to the possibility of Cleveland picking him at No. 13. This past season for the Buckeyes, Wilson hauled in 70 balls for 1,058 yards and 12 touchdowns. Could he and Mayfield form an impressive combo together starting this fall? We’ll find out soon enough.
