PSG star Kylian Mbappe could miss the squad’s next Champions’ League match against Real Madrid, a loss they simply cannot afford.

Paris Saint-Germain face Real Madrid in the Champions League Round of 16 this week in arguably the toughest draw the tournament has to offer thus far. Without a player of Mbappe’s caliber, there’s no telling what kind of impact it’ll have.

ESPN revealed that Mbappe suffered an injury in practice:

"“Sources have told ESPN that the forward sustained the injury in a 50-50 challenge in training and stayed on the floor. He was examined by the club’s doctors, who first feared a fracture. However, an MRI revealed no fracture, although the 23-year-old was still in pain.”"

Kylian Mbappe injury: Will he miss Real Madrid game?

Despite the importance of the Champions League, don’t expect PSG to put one of their greatest assets at risk against Real Madrid. Unless his condition improves immensely, odds are he will not start at the very least.

PSG confirmed the injury to Mbappe in a statement:

“Kylian Mbappé received a knock on his right foot in training today. He has undergone treatment this afternoon,” read the release. “The medical tests are reassuring and another update will be made in 24 hours.”

Mbappe is the top scorer for PSG in all competitions this season, with 19 goals in 31 games.
