Injury news is some of the worst news in sports and the Boston Red Sox were dealt some less than ideal injury news following their loss to the New York Yankees.

The Boston Red Sox aren’t having a great day. First they lost on the road against the New York Yankees. That alone is probably pretty bad on its own in its own right, but then once you add in some injury news and things get a good bit worse for Boston fans.

That’s right, injury news sucks. But what’s worse than injury news? Well, injury news for two different players. That’s right, the Red Sox are having to figure out what’s going on with Matt Barnes and with Xander Bogaerts.

That’s less than ideal.

Unfortunately for the Red Sox, Boston had to make do without Barnes and it’s not totally clear as to how long Bogaerts will be impacted by having a tight hamstring bother him. According to a tweet from MLB.com’s Ian Browne, Barnes was hopeful that he’d be able to get out and pitch on Saturday.

As we know now, that did not happen.

However, because of an injury he endured on Thursday, Barnes ended up getting sidelined. Browne also pointed out that Bogaerts was hopeful to be able to play.

He did suit up, but didn’t look right as he went 0-for-3 on Saturday with three strikeouts and a walk.

It’s not totally clear when either of the two will be available for Boston once more, but there’s no doubt that Red Sox fans would definitely appreciate it if the folks on their roster would start getting healthy sooner rather than later.

Next. Half Red Sox, half Yankees Babe Ruth jersey is ugliest thing we’ve ever seen. dark
